We believe in protecting our environment where this is possible, we are always looking at new ways to reduce our waste to save it going to landfill sites. See exactly what we do in HQ and for our customers to stay Eco.

DVD Locker HQ:

  • We have removed paper documents and replaced these for E-documents and online materials
  • We recycle everything possible this includes; Magazines, Cans, Bottles and Glass
  • For items that we cannot currently recycle, we give to the community via charities and up-cycling companies
  • We provide our suppliers invoices via Email and online portals to save on paper waste

For Our Customers:

  • We remove all wrapping from our DVDs and Blu-Rays and recycle them
  • We take out any marketing materials from the Movie cases
  • We send your Movies out in 100% recyclable envelopes
  • We minimise leaflets, letters and invoices by post

To Sum Things Up:

- All paper we use for labelling, invoice cards and paper is FSC or PEFC approved which means it is responsibly sourced. On our invoice cards, we clearly advertise the Recycle logo and recently downsized from A4 sheets to smaller A6 sheets and removed all personal information from cards to make it easier for our customers to recycle. We are now offering our customers a paperless option.

- While we aim to be a paperless business, we do end up with paper invoices, letters, junk leaflets (from DVDs/Blu-rays) and other paper that is unavoidable. We securely shred all paper before recycling. We do use paperless options from our suppliers when possible.

- Only 9% of the worlds plastic is recycled and 25% of UK councils do not recycle plastic. This means some of our customers could not recycle the plastic wrappers even if they wanted to and it may end up in landfill or even the sea. Because of our commitment to the environment, we remove all plastic wrapped on DVDs and Blu-rays and ensure they are recycled.

- We remove all junk and advertisements within our movies during our quality check progress as most of these leaflets will be of no value or use to most people. We will however keep any movie codes such as UV (UltraViolet)/Digital Download leaflets and any leaflets related to your movie where applicable.

We send 0% to landfill at DVD Locker. We do recycle everything in our office from paper to cans. In the rare case we have something that can not be recycled, we will find other ways such as upcycling or donation to local charities.
